Are we alone in the universe? This puzzle has long perplexed us and continues to drive us forward. While UFOs are usually nothing more than natural phenomena in Earth's atmosphere, scientists believe there must be planets similar to Earth scattered throughout the universe. Due to differences in time and vast distances in space, greetings between Earth's civilization and extraterrestrial civilizations may have missed each other. Yet humanity has never stopped trying. We use telescopes to capture the changes in starlight during planetary transits, and track the tiny wobbles of stars caused by the gravitational pull of the planets orbiting them. We use large ground-based telescopes to gaze at space and the FAST radio telescope to listen to the whispers of radio waves. We will also continue to conduct more explorations with next-generation space telescopes. Curiosity keeps humanity from resigning themselves to loneliness, and this ongoing exploration may ultimately make the universe no longer silent.
